Shakespeare for Scientists and Engineers organised by DIPM Council on 24th February, 2016
The Council has been innovative and creative in their vision and mission. Traditions are being broken to deviate from the roots to set our own path.
For a change, it has been decided to hold a lecture on “Shakespeare for scientists and Engineers” to mark the Quarter centenary of the William Shakespeare.
The programme was scheduled on 24th Feb 2016 and the lecture was delivered by Prof. B. N. Balajee, a renowned Professor of English. The programme was conducted in two sessions and a Q & A session with exhibits of the William Shakespeare. The Program was inaugurated by Air Marshal P. P. Reddy, VM, ADC, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff and the Chairman COSC.
The first session was related to the need to bridge the gap between science and humanities and bring in Shakespeare studies that could enhance and enrich the studies of subjects in science and technologies.
The second session exposed the participants to the best of Shakespeare’s legacy and contribution to mankind followed by a Q & A section.
The exhibits comprised of rare and unique collection of works related to Shakespeare through posters, photographs and memorabilia.
